Hi! We are Mom Missy and Son Gino!
If Tornadoes Could Ring Doorbells was born on a bright spring morning during stay at home days, when imagination felt especially important and curiosity filled our backyard. At the time, Gino was deep in what I lovingly call his tornado phase. He wanted to learn everything about them, how they form, where they go, and what makes them so powerful.
That morning, we were outside playing together, moving between the sandbox, a pirate ship, and his little playhouse. In the middle of our play, Gino rang the doorbell on his playhouse, looked up at me, and said, “Mommy, what if tornadoes could ring doorbells?” In that simple, curious moment, a story began.

Miriam Tedesco, also known as Missy or Mommy, has been writing stories since she was a youngster herself. Bringing Gino’s idea to life and working on this project together has been a true gift. When she’s not digging in the sand or playing second mate to Gino’s latest tale, Miriam enjoys exploring with her family, writing, gardening, decorating, cooking, and finding creative joy in the everyday.
Miriam believes there is beauty in the mundane and takes every opportunity to slow down, notice, and appreciate the wonder that is all around us. If Tornadoes Could Ring Doorbells is a celebration of childhood curiosity, learning through imagination, and the magic that appears when we truly listen to our children. It is the first story in what she hopes will grow into a collection inviting readers along for a whimsical jaunt into the wonders of What If.
